Grandmaster Bobby Taboada
With an illustrious career spanning decades, GM Taboada has become a revered figure, a current legend, and an icon of Filipino martial arts.
Born and raised in Cebu, Philippines, Bobby began his journey in the martial arts at a very young age. His passion and talent led him to train under the tutelage of the Grandmaster Teofilo Velez, who was one of the original members of the Balintawak Arnis Club. Under GM Velez's guidance, GM Taboada honed his skills, immersing himself in the intricacies of this dynamic and highly effective combat system.
Guro Frank Zhong

With over 20 years of martial arts experience and extensive training in the art of Balintawak Cuentada under Guro Jeff Soriano, and has been presented with his Instructor Certificate by GM Bobby Taboada. Guro Frank is dedicated to sharing his knowledge and passion with students of all levels.
Balintawak Cuentada Arnis
Originating from Cebu, Philipines, the Balintawak Cuentada method was developed by Grandmaster Bobby Taboada as he taught the art around the world. From his upbringing in the original Balintawak Club under the tutelage of Grandmasters Teofilo Velez, Attny. Jose Villasin, and the other instructors of the Club.
Cuentada, meaning “counter for counter”, embodies the philosophy of GM Bobby’s approach to training. Beginning with the foundation of solo drills for speed, power, and control, practitioners progress to partner training, with increasing layers of free flow as they gain experience and skills.
