Who Can Attend?
Anyone interested can attend. If testing, you are welcome to bring family and friends as spectators as the testing time approaches. We welcome all training backgrounds and experience levels — including newcomers to Filipino Martial Arts entirely.
What Will the Day Look Like?
Training begins at 9 AM after sign-ins. Lunch is included on site at about noon, with training resuming around 1 PM (there’s also time to visit local establishments for food, though dietary restrictions may not be accommodated on-site). Testing commences around 3:00 PM under GM Bobby Taboada’s supervision — an official and educational part of the seminar. Other Balintawak Cuentada instructors will also share their own techniques and methods. The agenda may shift slightly on the day.
What Should I Expect?
A fun, positive, interactive environment. Practice with different partners throughout the day to maximize the experience — that’s common at GM Bobby’s seminars. People are welcoming, so don’t hesitate to talk to someone new. Walking away with even one or two key concepts makes it a successful day.
What Should I Wear or Bring?
Comfortable clothes you don’t mind sweating in. Bring your own sticks if you have them (contact us if not). A change of clothes, a towel, and your own water bottle are recommended, plus extra t-shirts if needed.
Accommodations & Parking
Traveling from out of state? Look for hotels in Edison, NJ for the weekend of 4/25–4/27/2025 (Priceline or Airbnb are good bets). Parking should be plentiful in the lot outside the facility.
Places to Visit in Jersey
Edison is a gateway to NYC and Philadelphia by train or car. Worth a visit: Princeton (downtown & campus), Edison itself (great food scene), Six Flags, Fort Lee (one of the largest Koreatowns in the US), and Hoboken (nightlife and Manhattan skyline views).
